Elegantly Rustic Ranch Wedding: Sam + Yukie

I’m going to date myself a little here… I was engaged to be married just about 10 years ago. I realize that 2004 wasn’t exactly the dark ages, but at the same time, I can’t help but look back and think that I was at a slight disadvantage. My engagement predated my interest in event planning, the onslaught of gorgeous wedding blogs on the internet, and even (gasp!) Pinterest! How did people even plan weddings before Pinterest?!? Ok, ok… in reality, we got by just fine. We even managed to choose a beautiful color palette and tackle a few DIY projects. The end result was even more than I ever could have wished for at that time. I absolutely loved our wedding and I treasure the memories and photos that I have of that warm Fall day that I became Mrs. Walker.

Would you judge me if I said that sometimes I wish that I could do it all over again?  My logical brain knows that the point of the whole thing was to get married to the man that I love. Mission accomplished! But it sure would be fun to plan my own wedding again with all of my current knowledge and the modern marvel of those lovely internet resources. Since it doesn’t seem like that’s in the cards for me personally, I’ll just have to enjoy my involvement in wedding planning professionally. Lucky for me, my party styling business took me into the world of wedding styling last year.

That brings me to what I want to share with you today. Today I have some of the beautiful details from the union of Sam and Yukie at The Ranch at Bandy Canyon from last summer. I was fortunate to have a small hand in this event, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to share how it all came together. The Ranch was such a perfectly charming setting to stage this wedding and celebration. Muted gray tones were complimented with bright yellows that could be found everywhere from shoes, to flowers, to the vintage suitcase that was used to collect cards. Printable designs by a la Mo can be spotted in a few of the images below and included escort cards, table numbers, a “Just Married” banner, and some other signage.  For the favors, I also designed a frame/folder for guests to place their photo booth picture strips into.

Enjoy the pretty details…

I know this little guy, so maybe I’m partial, but isn’t he the cutest little (serious) ring bearer you ever saw??

Congratulations Sam and Yukie!

  1. I love the colors! And an old suitcase for cards is such a good idea!

    • Thanks! I loved the suitcase too… wish I could take credit for it. I’ll definitely be remembering it for future weddings though!

  2. I am just like you, I got married 13 years ago, WAY before the onslaught of cute, crafty ideas on the Internet and before I became an event planner myself, so I look back and think how differently I would have done some things. Oh retrospect! And oh, that dang Pinterest! These photos are gorgeous. What a darling wedding.

  3. Swooooon! Absolutely beautiful colors. Simple and elegant.

  4. OMG! Love the details here! What a truly stunning job of incorporating the colors and keeping it coherent without going over the top! Simply beautiful!

  5. Gorgeous! I love the details and the color palette.
