Have you heard of a baby sprinkle yet? Attended one? A sprinkle is a party to celebrate a second (or 3rd, 4th, etc.)-time mom that already had a baby shower when she was expecting her first child. In this case, the parents probably have most everything they need for a baby at home already. But that doesn’t mean that the mom and new baby shouldn’t be celebrated. So instead of a full on shower, you just have a little sprinkle.
In my circle of friends we have made it a point to get together to sprinkle each of our expectant moms. Congratulating the pregnant ladies is obviously important and it doesn’t hurt to have an excuse for some kid-free bonding time! We don’t bring gifts for the baby, but we do give something small just for the moms. After organizing numerous potluck baby sprinkles over the last couple years, we recently opted to host a restaurant sprinkle instead. The point was to simplify the work that goes into planning and focus more on spending stress-free, quality time together. That’s nice in theory, but I just don’t have it in me to simply show up at a restaurant, eat, and call it a party. So I came up with an easy plan to create a beautiful shower that didn’t require a lot of effort on the day of the event. I also recruited a few friends to help with some of the fun details.
The fresh color palette of yellow, teal, and grey was chosen to make the sprinkle gender neutral, but could also easily be used for a boy shower. Custom party printables, simple floral arrangements, fun games, and yummy cupcake favors were just some of the details that made this baby sprinkle stand apart from your average weekend brunch out with friends.
